2014 Oscars: Penelope Cruz wears H&M gown to the Vanity Fair party

Guest post: Erika Marucci is the Style and Beauty Intern at Canadian Living and a journalism student at Centennial College, currently in her last semester. She loves all things fashion, beauty and entertainment and wants to pursue a career in the magazine industry as a fashion journalist. She can also write and speak fluent Italian. After a marathon (3.5 hours, not including the red carpet) Oscars show, Vanity Fair hosted their legendary after-Oscar party attended by all the biggest celebrities including award-winning actress—and total babe—Penelope Cruz. This party is the unofficial red carpet round two, almost all the A-listers change into their second ensemble of the evening. However her wardrobe change was brilliant, redemption! The actress dazzled in a long, fitted flamenco H&M gown custom made for the occasion, she said it reminded her of her Spanish roots. The midnight blue ruffled gown was made of sustainable materials, and lucky for us a similar version of Cruz’s dress will be available to the public in select H&M stores as of April 10th when the Conscious Exclusive collection is set to launch. “Penelope Cruz is an actress that we really admire,” Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Head of Design, New Development said. “I’m so thrilled that one of the most incredible actresses in the world chose to wear an H&M gown in more sustainable materials.”
