Staff Tested: Winter Beauty Rescue

This winter feels like it's just not letting up. Tones of snow, crazy windchill and below normal temperatures. Not to mention the beating our skin is taking from forced air due to our constant cranking of the thermostat. The dead of winter means we all need to smarten up and kick our skincare routine into high gear. As of mid-January my nightly routine has lost all sex appeal, not like it had some before. I'm not a negligee and satin sheet kinda girl. Due to my angry eczema, I'm now slathering on ample amounts of rich shea butter blends onto my feet and hands. Then, proceed to lock in the humectant goodness with cotton gloves and socks..sorry Tom. Our office is filled with parched, cracked, dehydrated skin. Scary visual, but true. On a near daily bases fellow staffers are coming by my desk asking for hand cream, body lotion and wanting to upgrade to a more hardcore moisturizer. Of course Katherine and I provide them with the latest and greatest samples from our beauty closet. And sometimes we hit a home run by bestowing the perfect product for that person. So now I'm asking/making them write a reviews if they really truly love it. Here's our first staff test drive, from our very own style intern, Matthew Biehl.

picture-52The winter has wreaked havoc on my skin like never before, so to combat the dryness the beauty gals gave me the Rocky Mountain Soap Company’s Citron Body Wash, Citron Body Butter, as well as the Men’s Hand and Foot butters. I added each product to my morning routine, and they have really helped to moisturize and protect my skin for the entire day. The use of citrus, avocado, and fir needle lend themselves well to creating scents that are invigorating and fragrant without being too floral or overpowering. And the unique deodorant-style packaging of the butters allows for an easy, non-greasy application. Overall, this is a great line of natural Canadian products that everyone, not just men, can enjoy.

  • Citron Body Wash, 270 mL, $13.50
