Marion Cotillard

Oscar nominee (for Two Days, One Night) Marion Cotillard wore a Dior gown that garnered mixed reviews on Twitter. Our take? We loved the gorgeous white eyelet dress featuring a bold back detail, but we admit that it’s a fashion-minded girl's kind of dress. As for the beauty: we loved the fresh face, rosy cheeks and lips, and exaggerated deep side-part. The hair and makeup paired with the stunning Chopard earrings gave a nod to the ‘60s, of which we can't get enough.

Naomi Watts

When Naomi Watts hit the red carpet there was a collective gasp in the room. Watts made our best-dressed list wearing a stunning beaded Armani Privé column gown. Aside from her amazing fashion sense, we couldn’t get enough of her dewy skin, glossy bruised-berry pout, full lashes and tousled wavy 'do tucked behind her ear. The look was chic, modern and fresh.

Dakota Johnson

At only 25, Dakota Johnson barely needs makeup to look fresh and pretty. We love that she kept her look light with a subtle brown shadow smudged around her eyes and a vibrant lip to match her dress. She also chose a ponytail, which is a huge red-carpet trend this season.

Scarlett Johansson

New mom Scarlett Johansson stunned on the red carpet in a body-conscious emerald green Atelier Versace gown. What really caught our eye is her new slicked-back mohawk-esque cut, golden blonde colour and beautiful petal lip colour. The juxtaposition of her edgy hair cut with the sexy dress was perfection.

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie looked beautiful, sophisticated and sexy in a black floor-length Saint Laurent gown. Her beauty game really upped the sex appeal: a modern one-length lob with a deep side part and groomed brows, loads of mascara on the top and bottom lashes and the most striking matte lip ever. Her lips were lined with Hourglass Panoramic Long Wear Lip Pencil in Raven and filled with Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Rave, a bold matte orange.

Chrissy Teigen

Chrissy Teigen, wife of John Legend—who won for best original song (along with Common) for “Glory” from the movie Selma—had a terrific beauty look. Her Zuhair Murad gown was less impressive, but less focus on the good stuff. Her deep purple pout, highlighted skin and Veronica Lake-like waves were a breathtaking combination.

Emma Stone

We don’t like to play favourites, but as far as we’re concerned Emma Stone can do no wrong when she hits the red carpet. Nominated for her role in Birdman, Stone has tried something new—fashion and beauty wise—on virtually every red carpet. Her peaches-and-cream complexion was enhanced with a rosy cheek, coral velvet lips and champagne-and-chestnut smoky eyes. Her half-up, half-down 'do looked polished but not too precious. It was everything we could have hoped for and more!

Rosamund Pike

Rosamund Pike, a nominee for Gone Girl, has the kind of feminine appearance that requires little embellishment. In fact, it looks better when pared down. For the 2015 Academy Awards, she chose a minimal makeup look and simple hair, which allowed her dramatic red Givenchy gown to step into the spotlight.

Julianne Moore

Best actress winner for her role in Still Alice, Julianne Moore stunned in her custom Chanel column style gown. “Karl Lagerfeld made this for me,” she said to Ryan Seacrest during the E! Broadcast—you know, no big deal! Although Karl made her dress, our favourite aspect of her look was her hair and makeup. The last few red carpets, we’ve seen Moore’s hair down and modern and with a slight wave, so it was a pleasant surprise to see a timeless and more polished updo with knockout nude makeup and her signature smoky eye found in bronze-and-brown tones.

Cate Blanchett

Cheeks! Does anyone have more stunning cheekbones than Cate (Blanchett) the Great? We don't think so. We loved the delicate blush that she used to accentuate her best asset, as well as her slightly messy updo. It was a great natural look for the naturally beautiful actress. Plus, the bright necklace brought a little colour near her face—which is always a good thing.
