Travel beauty tips to get you through your next long flight

We asked the Emirates cabin crew for the best tips and practices for saving your skin on your next long flight.

A long flight can wreak havoc on how you feel. Sitting cramped, on a plane, for hours on end does nothing for your mood or your look. And in fact, recirculated air in a plane can be detrimental to your skin, leaving your complexion dehydrated or irritated. Not the look your probably want in your vacation photos.

Emirates Cabin Crew have shared their top beauty insights on keeping your skin hydrated and make-up looking fresh while travelling. Wherever you're headed, these tips will help you arrive at your destination feeling revitalized and raring to go the moment you step off the plane.

Top 3 beauty picks for a long-haul flight:

1. Pure coconut oil
2. Pure aloe vera gel
3. Rose water

Keep it simple with single-ingredient products that promote hydration and soothe skin.

Frequent flyer? Keep your skin hydrated all the time.

Incorporate hydrating facial masks into your skin-care routine a few times a week to make sure that your skin is always hydrated.

When flying, use facial mists and spritz periodically to make sure that you're not losing excess moisture en route.

Worried about arriving in style? Keep your skin and makeup fresh with these tips.

Make sure to prep your skin properly before applying makeup so that it lasts, and looks fresh, even after flying. This means cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing before applying a primer and your makeup. Using a makeup setting spray will help with your look's longevity too.

Outside of your skin-care routine, make sure to drink plenty of water before, during and after your flight to keep your skin glowing and fresh. Water and green tea and great drinks to sip on in-flight, and green tea will give you a caffeine boost without the dehydrating effects of coffee.

Beauty products for your carry-on:

Always carry a multi-purpose balm or gel that you can apply to lips, hands and any other dry spots. Facial wipes will allow you to take off your makeup, if you want to reapply before landing, and deodorant and a travel-size perfume will help you feel fresh upon landing.
