Vacation makeup essentials
Toronto-based makeup artist Ashleigh Foster, a frequent traveller herself, offers her top five makeup bag essentials for warm weather getaways:
1. A cream-based all-in-one colour for cheeks and lips. "It gives a nice, sheer, natural wash of colour," says Foster. Using your fingertips, smooth colour on the apples of your cheeks and your lips. Foster's favourite product: Benefit's Benetint liquid tint.
2. Black eyeliner. "It can take you from natural beach babe to evening glam in a flash," says Foster. "And it takes up way less room in your makeup bag than carting all your eye shadows."
3. Bronzer. Choose one that is just slightly darker than your natural skin tone, so it won't make you look orange. "Sweep some across your cheekbones for definition and dust a little over your eyelids for depth," advises Foster.
4. Tinted moisturizer. "It's a great way to even out your skin tone without suffocating your skin," says Foster. Foundation and powder aren't comfortable to wear in humid weather and have a tendency to cake. Be sure to choose a tinted moisturizer with an SPF of at least 15.
5. Skin-hydrating spray. "This is essential when you're travelling by air, since airplane air sucks the moisture right out of your skin," says Foster. When your skin starts to feel dry, simply sprint a little hydrating spray over your face to instantly perk up dull skin.
Now that you're armed with these low-maintenance, no-fuss beauty tips, get out there and enjoy your vacation. Happy travels!
