Five minutes with designer L'Wren Scott

The holidays just got a lot more glamorous thanks to L'Wren Scott's dazzling collection for Banana Republic. This limited edition offering revolves around her devotion to “glamorous, flirty and feminine dressing,” says Scott. Whether you're dressing for cocktails or the countdown, this 50-piece collection –ranging from ladylike sequined shift dresses and lace pencil skirts to candy-coloured silk pajamas and charming lipstick-printed clutches – will appeal to every woman with a stylish streak.

Julia McEwen: What's your favourite part of holiday dressing?

L'Wren Scott: I love the holidays because women are a bit more adventurous with their looks, experimenting with colours, prints and cuts. To reflect this, my collection is feminine and flirty – perfect for day-to-night dressing.

JM: Who did you have in mind when you were designing these pieces?

LS: This collection was designed for a woman looking to exude confidence, whether on a night out in one of the more glam cocktail dresses or while lounging at home in our beautiful silk printed pajamas.

JM: What are your most coveted items from this collection?

LS: I'm partial to the lace pencil skirts and the sequin shift dress. The fit is feminine and flirty – perfect for holiday dressing.

We have more designer interviews, including Ann Taylor designer Lisa Axelson
