Why we're excited about J. Crew and Drake's new fall collaboration

If you're a J.Crew fan and a lover of kaleidoscopic prints get ready for the the brand's new collaboration with Drake's.

Just in time for fall, J.Crew is teaming up with Drake’s, a British purveyor of men’s suiting, for a womenswear collection. This is the brand's first collaboration with a retailer and its first foray into womenswear. Drake's got its start producing scarves, ties and pocket squares in 1977 and continues to manufacture their goods in East London.

“Drake’s has such an important heritage and tradition in menswear. One day we thought, let’s see if they’d be interested in doing something for the ladies. After all, any opportunity to borrow from the boys is a great fit for us. We wanted shapes that were simple, classic and clean to show off the intricacy of each print. And who doesn’t love a fancy pajama?,” says Somsack Sikhounmuong, head of women’s design at J.Crew.

The offerings created for J.Crew are available in four colours with prints that feature birds of paradise, bengal tigers (in both pink and green) and unicorns. The collection includes shoes, pants and shirts, but the highlight are these beautiful 100-percent silk scarves that feature vibrant colours and whimsical prints.

Square scarves are back on accessory “it” lists. Whether artfully tied around your neck or thrown on as a bandana, a scarf has the power to give life to otherwise basic outfits.
