The more choices being offered, the more confusing shoe-shopping tends to be. Round-toed or pointy? Kitten heel or stiletto? You want to be in fashion, but with trends changing at warp speed, it isn't easy -- or affordable -- to keep up with the Joneses.
To get the most bang for your buck, you need to be armed with an idea of what you're after. Here are some suggestions to make your trip to the shoe store a little easier.
Get sized
It may sound silly for a grown woman, but as with bras, many of us are still buying the wrong size of shoe. There's nothing worse than having to resort to insoles and heel grips just to make your dream shoe fit. Get your feet professionally fitted on your next shoe store visit. And don't forget: one store's size 8 may be another store's size 9, so be sure to try on as many sizes as you need to find the perfect fit.
Consider your lifestyle
Now that you know your shoe size, think about your shoe style. If you do a lot of walking and/or running around, a stiletto heel won't do. On the other hand, if you aren't on your feet quite so much, you might choose to wear a shoe that's light on function, but high on fashion.
