The New Canadian Living: Celebrating the New Brand

On the evening of Tuesday, September 19, journalists, editors, influencers and other Canadians in the biz came together to celebrate the unveiling of the new, re-engineered Canadian Living. The October 2017 issue marks a turning point for the brand, revealing our new mission statement: Real Life Made Simple - with new columns, fresh content, and the same Tested Till Perfect recipes you can trust. Check out the event photos to see the engaging activations and indulgent treats inspired by the pages of the magazine! And perhaps you'll catch few familiar faces, too.

At the unveiling party, guests got an up-close and personal look at the October 2017 issue — they tried fun foods inspired by recipes in the issue, checked out home goods featured in the issue and tested beauty trends spotlighted in the issue.

The impossible-to-resist hors d'oeuvres supplied by Provisions were inspired by the recipes from the October issue. These mini bites are reinvented versions of our Sausage and Apple Stuffing!

Guests sipped on Osborne wine including Bodegas Montecillo, Montecillo Reserva, Nugan Estate and Annelise Pinot Grigio.

A gallery wall with two Samsung’s The Frame TVs had guests trying to decipher the revolutionary technology from the standard picture frames. (As seen in our October issue article "The Modern Update Your Family Room Needs".)

The cocktail bar offered two drinks: an Old Fashioned and a Paloma, both featuring Hornitos tequila, both in high demand on the steamy hot summer night.

Ace Bakery supplied the bread and crackers (and artwork!) for the charcuterie station.

The colossal charcuterie board, which guests couldn’t help but hover around all evening, was courtesy of Sofina Foods.

The wondrous cheese board was thanks to Monforte Dairy. The fromage at the top of everyone’s radar? “Bliss,” a soft cheese made of sheep’s milk.

This room, decorated with Wayfair, showed off some of the home design store’s finest fall offerings.

Do you prefer a bold red or subtle nude pout? Inspired by our beauty article "French Kiss" (p. 42) L’Oreal provided a lipstick station where guests could get touched up with lippy and freshened up — which was particularly appreciated on the unexpectedly balmy late summer night.
