3 wonderful white kitchens

Ingredients for delicious kitchen style What's your favourite colour of kitchen? Maybe it's because I grew up in a white kitchen with a large round, antique oak pedestal table that I feel most at home in a light, bright kitchen. But today kitchens come in a rainbow of colours – from traditional wood tones to high-gloss primary colours in limitless styles – making it easier for us to personalize our kitchen spaces like never before. From ultramodern to down-home country and everything in between, there's a kitchen style for every taste. Here are three inspiring designer kitchens that are loaded with looks and ideas that will make you want to cook up a few ideas of your own! Mixing a quartz island countertop with dark granite countertops adds a pleasing mix of surfaces. The square central island seats three and offers additional storage. White porcelain subway tiles add shine to the kitchen, while the white cabinets with nickel hardware are contrasted by the dark quartz countertops. It reflects light and the beautiful cabinetry in the kitchen, giving the illusion of dimension and space. A sleek undermount sink makes it easier to keep the shimmering quartz countertop clean in this busy area. Recipe for success [caption id="attachment_755" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Outdated dark kitchen cabinets await a fresh coat of paint. For DIYers, painting outdated kitchen cabinets can be time-consuming, but certainly achievable, as well as cost effective and rewarding. Not a DIYer? No problem. Hire a professional painter and use good-quality paint that's specially formulated for kitchens and bathrooms. Every major brand has one. The original backsplash, countertops and black ceramic look like new with the new cabinet finish. Think of the savings! A pretty, but practical piece of furniture – a small sideboard – is repurposed to be used as a small island. The perfect fit, it doubles as a useful work surface and additional storage. His recipe for the perfect entertaining kitchen included a mix of ingredients from Home Depot – upper cabinets in  Martha Stewart Living Weston in Persian Gray and lower cabinets in  Thomasville Nouveau Cavette in Woodgrain Torte –  and specialty suppliers like The Wine Establishment, where he found his Cavavin Urbania wine storage unit to satisfy his need for personal indulgences. Jeffrey opted for Wicanders Cork Comfort  real cork floor tiles in Slate Algae C81F001 Series 100, which are quiet and comfy under foot. Unique light fixtures like this one from Living Lighting draw attention and help define this stylish new space. Everything PLUS the kitchen sink Last but not least... the hardest working element in your kitchen – the sink. This one is a  Blanco Steel Art sink and Sweet Harmony faucet. Make it stylish and make it big and deep. Jeffrey's is perfect for filling large pots and floral arranging.
