It's easy to 'Live Right Now' with help from CBC and Canadian Living

A new year means new ways to Live Right Now!

Canadian Living is delighted to support CBC's Live Right Now campaign -- an initiative focused on inspiring you, your family and your community to enjoy an active lifestyle and a healthy diet.

What happened last year?
In 2011, Live Right Now inspired tens of thousands of Canadians to live healthier lives -- and it worked! We came together through Live Right Now with the shared goal of making healthier choices.

Add to that one of Live Right Now’s most ambitious goals -- The Million Pound Challenge -- and you have real success. Canadians were challenged to lose one-million pounds in six months. That goal was shattered by losing more than 1,600,000 pounds. Go Canada!

2012's goal
CBC has a new goal: to find the Live Right Now Capital of Canada!

CBC, together with Radio-Canada, is looking for the Canadian community that most embodies the spirit of Live Right Now: a community where residents are motivated and supported to make healthier choices.

How to get involved
To compete for the crown, residents need to rally behind their communities and track all the ways they make healthy choices using a specially designed Facebook app. Find out more about Live Right Now here.

Did they bike to work? Organize a community walk? Post a picture from a healthy potluck? Every healthy activity a person does will earn their town or city points, based on a simple point system.

It all starts on Jan. 13th. The winner being announced and featured on Steven and Chris and C’est ça la vie on April 13, 2012.

Canadian Living is with you every step of the way. We'll support and encourage you, and provide you with tips and tricks on how your community can embrace healthy living.

The Canadian Living team has our own goals. We're rounding up our staff and editors to head out on lunchtime walks!
