Since I come from a Hungarian heritage, I wanted to incorporate a low-fat, healthy meat selection with my family's spicy paprika sauce recipe. This dish is best served over cooked, buttered broad noodles or Spaetzle with a side dish of cucumber salad. You can also substitute domestic turkey or chicken in this dish.
Inspired by traditional Chilean pebre salsa, the salsa on these steak tacos is equally delicious with chicken breast tacos. For a little heat, add a tablespoon of minced jalapeño peppers to the salsa.
This flavourful salad comes together in minutes and can also make the perfect light lunch on its own. Serve with crusty bread.
I usually serve this dip as an appetizer but have enjoyed it as an evening snack when your longing for something with lots of flavor. Opinions vary as to whether it should be served hot or cold but I personally enjoy it hot from the oven with tostito chips or on crackers. If any dip is left over, which is not usual, I refrigerate it and enjoy it cold the next day if I can get to it before someone else does.
