High/low: Lace-up booties

If there's any sign it's fall, it's the corduroy, the scarves and the people clutching their Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes for warmth on the streets. At least that's how it seems in Toronto today – where I'm clearly more obsessed with food than anything else, marking seasons with corporate beverage launches rather than stray leaves peppering the sidewalk. [caption id="attachment_3464" align="aligncenter" width="296" caption="The famed Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, back on the bar today"] picture-42[/caption] I digress. While searching for fall goodies this weekend, I uncovered, quite possibly, THE BEST DEAL EVER. Since I've banished flat sandals, flip-flops and espadrilles to the back of the closet until next year (in a scary, scary mess, I'm afraid), I've gone crazy trying to find the perfect lace-up boot. And so I thought this was the one:

Crew Suede Flannery Platform Ankle Boots, $230 (originally $290).[/caption] Until I found this pair at Joe Fresh for $79: [caption id="attachment_3475" align="aligncenter" width="331" caption="Joe Fresh High Heel Desert Boot, $79"] Joe Fresh Leather Lace-up Booties, $79[/caption] Is that a no-brainer or what? Note: J.Crew appears to be having an extra 30% off sale today, which would bring the boots down to $161, in case you're keen on those. Both boots are available in a velvety black shade, too.
