Ingredients

Cobbler Topping:

Method

In large bowl, toss together cherries, sugar, flour, vanilla, orange zest and orange juice. Spoon into six 8-oz (250 mL) ramekins.

Cobbler Topping: In bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt. Using pastry blender or two knives, cut in butter until crumbly. Add buttermilk, stirring with fork to form soft, sticky dough. Top each ramekin with dough. Sprinkle with coarse sugar.

Place ramekins on rimmed baking sheet. Bake in 375°F (190°C) oven until centre of topping is no longer doughy inside, about 30 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
