Crisp, cool, and delightfully tart, this citrus classic is a fan-favourite for those young and old. Although, admittedly, it does have a tendency to lean a little sweet.

Healthy lemonade recipe
Ingredients
- 1 large lemon
- ¼ cup your sweetener of choice*
- 2 cups still or sparkling water
- 1 cup ice
*The recipe uses granulated sugar, but feel free to swap it out for stevia or monk fruit for a low-sugar option. If you’d prefer to sweeten your lemonade with maple syrup, agave or honey (an editor-approved favourite!), ensure you melt it with a few tablespoons of hot water to avoid sticky clumps.

Method
1. Slice your lemon up into six pieces
2. In a large glass or container, muddle your lemon and sweetener together until it’s a thick, jammy texture. If you don’t have a muddler on hand, use the back of a wooden spoon to crush the lemons.
3. Add the ice and lemons. Shake or stir your lemonade to mix it all up.
4. Serve with a slice of lemon. Enjoy!
