Apple & Date Crisp

Crumbles and crisps are desserts we can always get behind. Try this one made with sweet and sticky filling.

Method

Preheat oven to 350°F; grease 9- x 13-inch baking dish.

In bowl, gently stir together apples, lemon juice, dates, 1/2 cup of the apple- sauce, 1/2 cup of the coconut sugar, and the cinnamon. Pour into prepared bak- ing dish.

In separate bowl, combine quick- cooking and large-flake oats, flour, remaining applesauce, remaining coconut sugar and the olive oil; stir until wet and crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over apple mixture in baking dish.

Bake until top of crisp is golden and edge is bubbling, 35 to 40 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.

Serve with vanilla ice cream, if using.
