You don't mess with a good thing, and the easy recipe for this comfort food favourite is a case in point.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper; set aside.

In large bowl, beat together butter, brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy, about 2 minutes. Beat in egg; beat in egg yolk and vanilla. In separate bowl, whisk together flour, cinnamon, baking soda and salt; stir into butter mixture just until combined. Stir in oats and raisins.

Roll dough by 2 tbsp into balls. Arrange, 2 inches apart, on prepared pans. Bake, 1 pan at a time, until golden, 12 to 14 minutes. Let cool on pans on racks for 2 minutes; transfer directly to racks to cool completely.
