Grilled Nectarine & Caramel-Topped Tortillas

One bite of this simple yet delicious grilled dessert will have you floating on cloud nine.

Method

­Preheat barbecue to medium heat (about 350°F); grease grill. In small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon; set aside. Brush cut side of nectarines with half of the melted butter; set aside. 

Place tortillas on grill, close lid and cook until golden brown and crispy, turning halfway through grilling time, 2 to 4 minutes. Remove tortillas from heat. Brush each side with remaining melted butter and sprinkle with reserved sugar mixture. Cut into wedges. 

Place reserved nectarines on grill, cut side down, and cook until golden brown and slightly softened, turning halfway through grilling time, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat; let cool. When cool enough to handle, cut into bite-size pieces. 

Stir amaretto, if using, into dulce de leche. Spread dollop of dulce de leche over tortilla wedges and top with grilled nectarines. Sprinkle with almonds.
