These squares are loaded with banana chips and peanuts for crunch. Breaking the banana chips into small chunks makes it easier to cut the bars later on. For a twist, replace the peanuts with cashews or even toasted unsweetened coconut.

In bowl, stir chocolate wafer crumbs with butter until moistened; press into parchment paper–lined 9-inch (2.5 L) square cake pan.

Sprinkle with banana chips, chocolate chips, peanuts and peanut butter chips; pour condensed milk over top.

Bake in 350?F (180?C) oven until set in centre, about 30 minutes. Let cool in pan on rack for 30 minutes. Cover and refrigerate to cool completely, about 1 hour. (Make-ahead: Wrap and refrigerate for up to 5 days or overwrap in foil and freeze for up to 1 month.) Cut into squares.
