Method

In large, lightly greased microwaveable mug, place bread cubes, alternating with raisins; press down lightly. In measuring cup, combine egg, milk and sugar. Pour liquid mixture over bread and let stand 1 to 2 minutes. Sprinkle with nutmeg and cardamom. 

Microwave on high until cooked, about 1 minute. Drizzle with maple syrup, if using.
