Method

In large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add onion; cook for 2 minutes. Add garlic; cook for 2 minutes. Add tomatoes, basil, hot pepper flakes and oregano; bring to boil. Reduce heat; simmer, stirring occasionally and crushing tomatoes with back of wooden spoon, 10 minutes. Stir in cream; season with salt and pepper. Simmer, stirring frequently, until cream is warm, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle with Parmesan and fresh oregano, if using.

This recipe is a combination of traditional Italian rosé and arrabiata sauces. Arrabiata means angry in Italian— fitting for this very spicy sauce! Feel free to adjust the amount of hot pepper flakes to your taste.
