Beer-Battered Mussels

Mussels In bowl, toss mussels with flour. Set aside. 

Batter In large bowl, whisk together flour, beer, egg yolk, hot pepper flakes and salt. 

In large saucepan or deep fryer, add enough oil to come 1 inch up side; heat to 350°F. Dip mussels in batter, about 12 at a time; transfer to sauce­pan and cook in oil until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Using slotted spoon, drain fried mussels on paper towel-lined plate. Repeat with remaining mussels. Serve with Walnut & Tahini Sauce.
