Cut chicken into cubes and thread onto 2 parallel skewers about 1⁄2-inch apart. (Two skewers will hold the meat firmly.) Repeat with remaining chicken and skewers; set aside.
In wide shallow dish, combine tequila, lime juice, oil, chili peppers, cilantro, garlic, salt and pepper. Add chicken to marinade; toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Place skewers on greased grill over high heat (about 400°F). Grill chicken skewers, turning to brown on all sides, 10 to 12 minutes.
Meanwhile, in small bowl, combine mayonnaise, basil, cilantro, chives, lime zest, salt and pepper. Serve chicken skewers with herb sauce on the side.
