Easy Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Author: Canadian Living

Ingredients

Method

Spread butter or margarine on the bottom of 4 slices of bread. Lay these 4 slices buttered side down on an ungreased cookie sheet. Then spread the optional mayonnaise on the top of the buttered 4 slices. Lay a slice of cheese on each of the four bread slices. Cheddar tends to be the most common cheese used in a grilled cheese sandwich, but try Canadian Swiss for a taste bud twist, it's delicious! Once the cheese is in place, take one slice of bacon, break it in half, and lay them side by side on top of the cheese. Do this for each sandwich. To finish off, butter the remaining slices of bread, on one side only. Place it on the top, buttered side up! Bake in the oven at 350'F, for about 7 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown. Then flip the sandwiches over and put back in for another 7 minutes. You will have beautiful, golden cheese sandwiches that taste as good as they look. The kids will love them, but don't be afraid to serve these at your girlfriend lunches; they look lovely and cheese is loved by all!
