In slow cooker, combine chicken, lentils, carrots, onions, garlic, ginger, garam masala, cumin, salt and pepper. Stir in chicken broth and 1 cup water.

Cover and cook on low until juices run clear when chicken is pierced and lentils are tender, about 6 hours.
