In blender, purée together onion, garlic, strained tomatoes, beer, molasses, chili powder, vinegar, brown sugar, salt, cumin, mustard, pepper and cinnamon until smooth. Pour into slow cooker. Add beef ribs, turning to coat.Cover and cook on low until meat is tender, 6 to 8 hours.
Transfer ribs to serving platter. Skim fat from liquid in slow cooker; serve sauce with ribs.
