It's usually not difficult to get kids to eat a taco, nor will it be for this meal that's packed with the same flavours and has fun curlicue noodles. Teens and tweens just might be inspired to cook this one themselves.

Method

In large skillet, brown ground beef over medium-high heat, breaking up with back of spoon, until no longer pink. Drain off any fat.

Add chili powder, dried oregano and chopped green pepper; cook for 1 minute. Pour in pasta sauce; simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, in large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta for 8 to 10 minutes or until tender but firm. Drain and return to pot, reserving 3/4 cup (175 mL) pasta water.

Add meat sauce; toss to coat, adding pasta water if desired to moisten. Serve garnished with sour cream, Cheddar cheese and tortilla chips.
