The best new running shoes for your obstacle course race

If you're a fan of muddy workouts like the Spartan Race, Tough Mudder, Warrior Dash or the like, there's a new shoe made just for you. Reebok All Terrain The Reebok All-Terrain collection is made specifically for the Spartan Race (as they are a sponsor of the race series) but it's great for any obstacle course race. What makes it different from your average running shoe? And what should you look for when choosing an obstacle course race shoe? We break it down for you:
  • Make sure your shoes are mud repellant and quick dry. These runners use a technology called ION MASK which repels muddy dirt and water and they're made with a quick dry material so they won't stay wet and soggy.
  • Make sure your shoes have some serious grip. The midfoot teeth on these runners give you traction on ropes or slippery ground and there's a toe pick to help you grip as well. You'll need a shoe with a great grip to avoid wiping out.
  • Make sure your shoes have a hard sole. If your footwear doesn't have a stable sole, you'll feel all those bumps and rocks which will definitely inhibit your speed.
Interested in trying these out? Find them  and a few other options (such as ones with drainage holes if you're doing a super wet race!) on  Reebok.ca for $120. Check out our great running guide to get you started!
