Easy-breezy summer stitch-along: Week 1

Welcome to week one of the Easy-Breezy Summer Stitch-Along. A simple craft project can be the perfect accompaniment to a summer road trip, an afternoon in the bleachers at a soccer game, or a relaxing few hours under your favourite tree. This is a low-key stitch-along with a focus on fun, not stressful deadlines! I hope that you've dusted off your favourite lawn chair, brewed up some iced tea, and you're ready to get stitching. After some prep work earlier this week (oof, drawing hexagons is harder than you might think!) I started my stitching this morning – on the subway. Not exactly an idyllic summer scene, but hey, sometimes you have to take what you can get. I'm not sure what this will be – or if I'll even stick with the paper-pieced hexagons after the first block. (The novelty tends to wear off, I've found.) But I've no doubt I'll find something else to occupy my fingers. Now, on to more important things: From the comments left last week, I know that we've got a bunch of people participating, and so I'd like to send a hearty greeting to: Barb B, Wanda, Jill M, Kim, Kaeleigh, Connie R, W Ball, Kelly, Cookie3, Sanchez Sugarcube, Donna MH, Anna, Celine, Ellen, Elizabeth and Diane! And finally: What are you making? I hope you'll chip in a comment to tell us about your project! (PS – Hope you enjoy your weekend. Don't forget that tomorrow is World Wide Knit In Public Day. Click through to find a knit in public event near you. Fun!)
