Giveaway #35

Hi again, If you're a sewist (or aspiring sewist) with an interest in patchwork, zakka, linen, or any combination of those things, I bet you can imagine how excited I was when I opened a box from Interweave Press and discovered a brand-new copy of the book I Love Patchwork. (If not – well, imagine a box full of chocolate. It was just as good!) picture-21 I started following Rashida Coleman-Hale's blog, I Heart Linen, after I found her directions for this amazing perpetual calendar...

...it's great, isn't it? So I was super-excited to see that she had a book on the way. Sure enough, this little volume doesn't disappoint – it's packed with projects to sew for yourself or your home. Typical of zakka sewing, they're projects that will inject a little bit of handmade style into your daily life. Whatever area of your life you think needs a bit of handmade – from pencil cases to coasters to a sewing machine cover to the calendar – there's quite a variety of projects for you to choose from. The instructions are clear and easy-to-read; the diagrams are large and well-drawn. (I haven't made anything out of the book yet, but that calendar and I have a hot date for this weekend). As you might expect from someone whose blog is called " I Heart Linen," the projects feature linen fabric (as well as attractive contemporary prints). This is one book I'm going to have a hard time giving away! For your chance to win this copy of I Love Patchwork, leave a comment on this post – tell me about your crafty new year's resolution. (Do you have one? What is it? If not, why not? I'll be sharing mine here tomorrow.) Comments will be open until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, January 10; I'll post a winner on Monday, January 11.
