Giveaway #49 (times two)

Hi friends, With Earth Day on the horizon, I thought it would be fitting to post a couple of eco-minded craft books. This week I've got two items to share, one that has appeared here before, and another that is brand new. First, for the kids (and young at heart), a copy of Make It! by Jane Bull (from DK Press).

The projects in the book are divided into four sections: paper, plastic, metal and fabric. Each section has a brief explanation of the material, how it's made and what it's used for, followed by a series of craft projects. There's a  little bit of everything, from making "junk mail mâche" to weaving a rag rug. The book is written for younger kids (ages 7 to 10), but older kids and adults could easily "upgrade" the crafts with a little imagination. The second book is Knitting Green: Conversations and Planet-Friendly Projects by Ann Budd. It's a great book to turn to if you're wondering how to make your knitting more ecologically conscious, and the projects are really eye-catching. knit-green To enter, leave a comment here telling me if (and how) you try to be ecologically friendly when you're crafting. Comments will be open until 11:59 pm on Sunday, April 18; I'll announce a winner here on Monday, April 19. Good luck!
