New Year's Resolutions - The Crafty Edition

Hi friends, Inspired by my 2009 Craftermath post and a variety of retrospective blog posts, the other day I headed over to fd's Flickr Toys and made up a little mosaic of some of the projects I worked on in 2009. picture-12 I'm pleased with how it turned out, but do you notice anything about it? Rather, do you notice anything about the projects? Hardly any of them are finished! Thing is, I finished all sorts of projects last year: I sewed two shirts, a set of curtains, four coin purses, several tote bags, a pencil case, some make-up bags and a pillow. I knitted a baby sweater, a pair of gloves, two cowls, and several sets of baby booties. I taught myself how to do freezer paper–stencilling and started churning out tote bags and team shirts (OK, I didn't do a whole teams' worth, but I got a start). Then there were the terrariums, and the little paper houses...not to mention the projects I developed for the magazine. But while I don't seem to have a problem taking in-progress shots, and I do actually finish projects (most of the time...), I never seem to remember to take a photo of the finished project. This year, that changes. My resolution is to take a celebratory "It's Finished!" photo, so that when I'm doing my 2010 wrap-up, there are lots more Finished Objects in the mosaic than there are Works-In-Progress. First on the list: my February Lady Sweater. I'd like to have it finished in time to actually wear in February. Of course, I've got a ways to go yet... picture-22 Guess I'd better get busy. (What's your resolution? Share it, and enter to win a copy of the book I Love Patchwork. Fun!)
