Here's the classic dishcloth recipe that goes with Peaches & Creme the way champagne goes with truffles. Or a Diet Rite Cola with a Moon Pie, to be more exact.
Size: Approx 9-1/4" x 9-1/4" (23.5 cm x 23.5 cm)
Materials: Peaches & Creme worsted weight by Elmore-Pisgah Inc., [solid colours 2-1/2 oz (71.5 g) balls, each approx 122 yds (112 m); ombre colours 2 oz (57 g) balls, each approx 98 yds (90 m), cotton] 1 ball each in colour A and colour B. Size 7 (4.5 mm) needles.
Gauge: 18 sts + 32 rows = 4" (10 cm) over pat st.
With A, CO 45 sts (loosely).
Row 1: Using A, knit.
Row 2: Purl.
Row 3: Join B, k4, slip 1 purlwise *k5, sl1 purlwise; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 4: K4, yarn forward (yf), slip 1 purlwise, yarn back (yb), *k5, yf, slip 1 purlwise, yb; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 5: P4, yb, slip 1 purlwise, yf, *p5, yb, slip 1 purlwise, yf; rep from * to last 4 sts, p4.
Row 6: Repeat Row 4.
Row 7: Using A, knit.
Row 8: Purl.
Row 9: Using B, k1, slip 1 purlwise, *k5, slip 1 purlwise; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 10: K1, yf, slip 1 purlwise, yb, *k5, yf, slip 1 purlwise, yb; rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 11: P1, yb, slip 1 purlwise, yf, *p5, yb, slip 1 purlwise, yf; rep from * to last st, p1.
Row 12: Repeat Row 10.
Repeat these 12 rows 5 times, then rep rows 1 through 8. BO loosely.
Remember to take off your apron and hairnet before leaving the house.
