April 22nd marks International Earth Day, an opportunity to acknowledge that our daily habits impact the planet and that we can always adapt for the better.

While individual contributions can reduce our ecological footprint, businesses also have a massive role to play…
 
So, we’re pleased to present some sustainable initiatives aimed at helping transition into an eco-friendlier future!

 

LANCÔME

Lancôme protects biodiversity by optimizing regenerative agricultural practices, including sustainable sourcing and organic rose growing, improving packaging and formulas to limit environmental impact, and partnering with leading institutions to further contribute to biodiversity preservation. The brand offers consumers refillable and recyclable products, enabling them to make more sustainable consumption choices. Since 2018, thanks to Absolue refill capsules, Lancôme has avoided wasting 250 tons of glass. By 2025, all of Lancôme's flagship fragrances and skincare products will be refillable.

WONDERBRA

Canadian brand WonderBra continues to offer comfort and support, now designed with recycled materials. New styles from the Eco Pure collection, launched last year, are available in recycled nylon and polymer. Who knew a water bottle could have a second life as a bra?!

THE NORTH FACE

The North Face aims to implement a circular clothing recycling program, reusing raw materials. They have two programs designed to help combat waste and extend product life: Limited Lifetime Warranty and Clothes the Loop. They’ve set a goal for their products to ultimately be made with recycled or renewable fabrics from responsible sources (meaning fabrics derived from renewable materials that renew themselves over a lifetime). By 2025, The North Face has committed to this goal for their footwear and equipment categories, as well as eliminating single-use plastic packaging.

SOJA&CO

SOJA&CO.’s production process is entirely Montréal-based. By purchasing a handmade candle, customers are supporting the local economy. Environmental consciousness is also an integral brand value: they plant a tree for online order. SOJA&CO. takes concrete action to reduce its ecological footprint, from scrutinizing packaging, sourcing ingredients, and streamlining shipping processes. Their candles are manufactured using only soy wax, a renewable, biodegradable, and vegan resource. In addition to a longer burn time, SOJA&CO. candles also emit fewer harmful pollutants.

In addition, their bottles are made of over 90% recycled plastic and their goal is to reach 100% by the end of 2022. Vans is committed to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions, removing single-use plastic from their packaging, and redesigning their product lifecycle. By 2030, 100% of their most CO2-emitting materials will be made from recycled, recyclable, or renewable sources. By 2025, the brand will remove single-use plastic from their packaging and develop a circular economy platform.

Customers can currently customize shoes made from recycled materials, merging Vans' commitment to sustainability with creative expression. These recycled plastic fibers reduce carbon emissions by 20%.

Vans has proudly achieved Global Recycled Standard certification by ensuring that their recycled plastic comes from stable, official sources.
