Dina Pugliese Hosts The Most Delicious New Baking Show
Home cooks and professional bakers compete for the ultimate prize—but there’s still plenty of time for fun and games.
While we’ve never met a baking show we didn’t love, Food Network’s newest release has an undeniably Canadian spirit that feels extra special. Hosted by TV personality Dina Pugliese, Bake Master Battle is a three-part series that celebrates festive Halloween, holiday, and spring-themed episodes.
“This isn’t your traditional baking show,” says Pugliese. “It’s a competition with heart, love, passion, and fun. We’re having just as much fun as the contestants are.”

The show is judged by April Julian, a hyperrealistic baker and winner of Netflix’s Is It Cake?, and Toronto-based chef and food influencer Dwight Smith.
Each episode features an hour-long Dessert Dash that grants the winning team an advantage in the longer Battle Royale Bake. With plenty of laughs and surprises that pop up along the way, the road to $10,000-victory courtesy of Instacart is full of fun. “It is a pressure cooker, but it's also with people who you love and trust because that's what the set brings,” says Pugliese.
From experienced professionals to home cooks, Bake Master Battle plays host to all kinds of bakers.
Canadian Living was lucky enough to visit the set during filming and meet all three hosts for a little baking rapid fire:
“We've got instructors with their students, bosses with their apprentices, and mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law,” says Smith.
Even better? The show showcases a mix of jaw-dropping desserts and bakes that viewers at home can take inspiration from.
“There's always something where you might think, ‘that's a cool idea,’” says Julian. “'Maybe I could do that for the holidays with the kids.'”
Tune into Bake Master Battle on October 22 at 8/7 p.m. Central Time on Food Network.
