According to various unconfirmed reports, it appears that the zig zag pattern on his head was meant to mimic the scars of a 10 month old boy that had recently undergone brain surgery. Erik Ortiz Cruz suffers from cortical dysplasia, a condition that can lead to as many as 30 seizures a day. Earlier this year, Cristiano offered to foot the bill for his young fan's surgery after little Erik captured his heart. Erik underwent his successful surgery in March.
