It may not be Thanksgiving yet but that doesn’t mean your kids aren't already thinking about what to be for Halloween. “If you are looking for a popular costume, the season starts in earnest after Thanksgiving,” says Jamie DaSilva, purchasing manager at the Amazing Party and Costume Store in Toronto. Here are his top picks for the costumes your kids will be asking for this year. Frozen No surprise here. “This is number one across the board,” says DaSilva. Glamorous Elsa (that dress!) is the most popular character but there are sure to be tons of kids dressed as Anna and Olaf on the big night. Maleficent This misunderstood villain is a huge trend this year, especially for tween girls, says DaSilva. It has the right mix of scary and stylish. The Avengers Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Iron Man and the rest of The Avengers team will be popular again this year because of the latest Captain America movie, says DaSilva. Plus, you have to admit, these characters have the coolest accessories. Other perennial favourites you’ll see at your front door this year include Monster High characters, Ghostbusters and Thomas the Tank Engine. As for the hard-to-find pick, DaSilva thinks it will be characters from the hit summer movie Guardians of the Galaxy, especially Rocket Raccoon for kids.
