Kate Middleton's mom style and how you can copy it

Kate Middleton looks incredibly put together for a new mom. Yes, I know she has a team of people who help her get ready. But I think Kate embraces some simple style tricks that make her look polished and put together despite having a screaming baby at home. So here are some of Kate's style tricks that you can copy in your everyday "Mom" life. 1. Statement jewelry At the premiere of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, Kate paired a Roland Mouret gown with a $35 necklace from Zara. The great thing about a piece of statement jewelry is that it doesn't have to cost a lot to deliver some serious wow factor. Joe Fresh and H&M have great statement necklaces for really affordable prices. A necklace like Kate's obviously looks amazing with a gown, but most moms aren't attending premieres. Instead try pairing your necklace with a cozy sweater and jeans it will add instant glamour to a simple outfit that is still appropriate for hanging out with your kids. 2. A polished ponytail When Kate attended the Mandela premiere everyone was quite shocked she had her hair pulled back in a ponytail a princess in a ponytail, shocker. But a ponytail doesn't have to look messy, it can actually be very sophisticated, especially if you follow Kate's lead and tie your hair back with a velvet ribbon. Adding a hair accessory like a jeweled ponytail holder gives a basic ponytail a very polished look. So you may be running out the door with unwashed hair, but just grab a ribbon sometimes I use ribbons from gifts and tie your hair back, no one will know that you just threw it up. 3. Tuck in your shirt Kate manages to make running errands look stylish and it's all thanks to one simple style trick a tucked in shirt. It's such a small thing but tucking your shirt in just screams put-together, despiting it taking you 30 seconds to do. So be like Kate and throw on a blouse and comfy runners for a trip to the grocery store because as long as you tuck in your shirt, you won't look harried. If you're worried that tucking in your shirt will emphasize your mummy tummy, don't! Tucking in your shirt is actually very slimming because it shows off your shape, while a loose blouse makes you look bigger than you actually are. 4. Add a pop of colour Busy moms don't always have time to put together outfits every morning there are lunches to be made, kids to be fed and buses to catch. As a result many moms stick to monochromatic outfits, like Kate's outfit above, which is a black Temperley dress with black Jimmy Choo heels. But Kate adds a pop of colour with her cherry red clutch. This one dash of a colour is a really simple way to add some flare to an outfit. Try adding a coloured flat or bright scarf to your day-to-day look, it's both stylish and fun.
