I look at it when I wake up, on the way home from work, after dinner and finally, one last glance before bed. But could all these check-ins be making me unhappy? A new study says it is. Researchers at the University of Michigan discovered that the more you use Facebook, the worse you feel about your life. In fact, participants often felt lonelier and more worried after they logged into their Facebook accounts. At first I didn't agree with this study. I love looking at Facebook, it's my way of staying connected to friends and family who I don't get to talk to everyday. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized Facebook is making me unhappy. Every time I see a friend get engaged or have a baby, I am of course happy for them, but there is an underlying worry that these things will never happen for me. Or if I see an event I didn't get invited to, it makes me feel like I'm a lonely homebody. So maybe it's time to make a change to my routine and stop checking my Facebook so much. And then one day, when I get the guts, I’ll delete it completely. What do you think? Do you feel unhappier after spending time on Facebook?
