Non-new year resolutions

Am I the only one who feels like September is the start of a whole new year? Probably not. I'm sure you've all filled you mind with all sorts of resolutions. Some of mine include: • Wake up earlier • Make more time to relax • Run more • Eliminate sweets from my diet throughout the week • Have a total meat-free diet during the week I've resolved to have a meat-free diet during the week a number of times, and though I mostly stick to it, I have trouble saying no to meat when I'm eating out or at an event. I've been trying to cut back on my meat consumption because I know it's better for my health. High in saturated fats, limiting your meat intake can lower your risk of heart disease and certain cancers. But I'm also doing it to lessen my environmental footprint. Meat requires much more energy to produce, livestock contributes a large amount to the world's greenhouse gas emissions and our fish stocks are seriously depleting. I love checking out Treehugger's Weekday Vegetarian for fun and nutritious recipe ideas. I also have no trouble staying on track with great vegetarian recipe sources like The New Moosewood Cookbook or the Rebar: Modern Food Cookbook. Do you incorporate many vegetarian meals into your diet? What are your recipe resources?
