New ‘Canada Strong Pass’ Offers Free Tourist Perks For Canadian Youth
Thinking of travelling in Canada for your next holiday? This summer, it will be more affordable than ever for youth to experience national attractions across the country.
Under the federal government’s recently announced “Canada Strong Pass,” children and youth will have access to a number of discounted cross-country experiences throughout the summer.
From June to August, kids under 18 can visit all national galleries and museums free of charge, including the Canadian Museum of Nature and the National Gallery of Canada.
“At a time when our economy is under attack...Canadians are stepping up—helping our neighbours, buying local, and celebrating our beautiful country,” said Prime Minister Mark Carney. “Whether it’s trips to national parks and historic sites, spending the day at a national art gallery or museum, or hiking Canadian trails, my new government will help the next generation discover all Canada has to offer this summer.”

The federal government says it’s working with the provinces and territories to establish similar discounted passes for provincial and territorial museums and galleries.
To make it easier to reach these attractions, youth will also have access to free seats on VIA Rail when they travel with their parents. A “heavily discounted” fare will be available to Canadians aged 19 to 24, though the government has not yet announced specific numbers.
Additionally, prices for camping sites in national parks—including Banff National Park and Bruce Peninsula National Park—will be discounted from June to August.
So, where will you be heading?
