Editor's picks: Winter SOS beauty helpers

Ever since Toronto got confused and thought it was the Artic our skin has been subjected to extremely difficult conditions. Frostbite worthy temps, indoor heaters cranked up to the max and polar wind gusts have pretty much sucked out every last drop of moisture from my skin. Although I’ve had to rejig my entire beauty routine, here are a few of the winter weather helpers that I discovered along the way.

  1. Fend off eczema flare-ups with a plan of attack. Try products that contain colloidal oatmeal. It can help soften and soothe itchy, dry skin, and it retains the moisture in your skin like a champ. Aveeno Eczema Care Body Wash,  $13, shoppersdrugmart.ca.
  2. Need to perform some lip-healing first-aid? This fragrance-free balm delivers major moisture and immediate relief, plus reduces redness. Eucerin Intensive Lip Balm, 10 mL, $6.50, eucerin.ca.
  3. I've trading in (or up) my powder blush for this Neapolitan ice cream looking blush. This deodorant-like packaging houses a highlighter and pink and coral creamy blushes that are designed to be swiped on together, then blended.  Benefit Cosmetics Fine One One, 8 g, $36, benefitcosmetics.com.
