Easier said than done, I know, but in my case it really was easy. Early in the season my fellow beauty editor, Andrea Karr, came back from an Amore Pacific beauty event and dropped this compact on my desk—in my shade—and said "try it." I wasn't a total stranger to this cushion compact, I've read about it's magical results in American magazines, but with all the hype around it, I was skeptical, until my first wear. Just like that, I was hooked. Two months later I've worn it everyday and I've taken my primer, concealer, foundation, BB and CC creams out of the equation. This cushion compact is all I need. What is a cushion compact you ask? It has a similar formula as a BB or CC cream, but with a watery consistency that delivers the same level of SPF and a light to medium coverage. It's applied with a "cushion," yet the formula lives in a reservoir under a sponge. Every time you press your cushion on the sponge the liquid formula is released. It's easy to blend into skin, never looks caked on and is compact enough to tagalong with you in your purse for touchups. Is it worth the $72 price tag. If your beauty obsessed and looking for a product that will give you a high dose of sunscreen (spf 50) and leave skin slightly dewy, but not shiny, then yes. Another plus? It's jam-packed with anti-aging ingredients such as Phyllostachis bambusoides juice for firming skin, green tea oil which is an antioxidant and bamboo sap for moisturizing. I'm still waiting for a mass-market brand to come out with similar technology, but until that day comes I'll be faithful to this wonder product.
