55% of Canadian households don't use conditioner

A shocking statistic given that conditioner is the most accessible and easy way to achieve a good hair day. The difference can be seen and felt —softer, shinier, more manageable strands. Using a conditioner regularly is really the foundation to improving the health of your hair.

FIND YOUR MANE MATCH

New and better formulas are making it easier than ever to reap the rewards of an effective conditioning experience—the problem is many people don't know what type of hair they have. Those at either end of the spectrum (i.e. if you have extremely thin hair or very curly or coiled hair) have a better handle on how to treat their strands—it's the rest of us in the middle that could use a little help.

IF YOUR HAIR IS...

COLOUR-TREATED
"If you are colouring your hair regularly," says Jeni Thomas, principle scientist at P&G Beauty, "you need that extra boost of strengthening." This means not only using hair products that will preserve your colour (especially if you find it fading fast thanks to outside factors like the sun), but ones that will keep your hair shiny and healthy too.

FLAT AND DOESN'T HOLD A STYLE
"If frizz for you means falling flat versus getting big, those are indications you have finer hair," says Thomas. Other indications you have thin hair? It doesn't hold a style, gets tangled easily and your braids and ponytails are thin and small.

DRY TO THE TOUCH AND BRITTLE
Dry and brittle hair can be due to genetics, but often we do the damage ourselves with too much summer sun exposure, chlorine damage or hair colouring—and it needs an extra dose of hydration to get those soft, touchable and shiny strands you're after.

Use: Daily Moisture Renewal

PRONE TO FRIZZ AND FEELS HEAVY
Heavy and thick hair is usually defined by unkempt waves, frizz and a severe lack of shine—not to mention an overall feeling of heaviness. In the past, you've probably felt that conditioner weighs your hair down, but you need moisture and smoothing agents to make your hair bouncy and smooth.

Use: Smooth & Sleek

DAMAGED FROM REGULAR USE OF HEAT TOOLS
If you know you do damage to your hair—like using heat tools daily or even wearing your hair in a too-tight ponytail too often, then you need a proactive product that helps to undo the damage, while also protecting from your next blow dry.

Use: Repair & Protect

TIP: When you condition, condition the areas where you apply heat—this means conditioning from root to tip if you blowdry your hair daily.
