Knitting on the Fly

All right. My bag is packed, my camera battery is charged, I've printed my boarding pass and read up on your Hali-shopping recommendations (thank you!), and, most importantly, I've got my travel knitting ready to go. travel-knit I'm still beavering away on that Tea Leaves Cardigan and hope that a good eight hours of departure lounge and airplane knitting will help me make some real progress. The only way that I know to ensure this outcome is to "forget" to bring my DPNs, so that I'm terribly inconvenienced when I finish the sweater body and get to the sleeves. (I think that falls under some sort of reverse-reverse-psychology, don't you?) And the purple yarn is for a shawl. I'm not entirely sure about the shawl phenomenon (when I see people with shawls they always look great, but I'm convinced I will look like Whistler's Mother) but Make+Do reader Jen introduced me to the Simple Things pattern ( Ravelry link) and I think I'm going to give it a try – provided I find myself inconvenienced by a lack of sleeve-appropriate needles, that is. Have a great weekend – I'll see you back here on Tuesday with the winner of Giveaway #68.
