What's your favourite Christmas tradition?

Last week we asked our Facebook readers what their favourite holiday tradition is and we got some great answers. Chrissy B likes listening to Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton's Christmas album. Priscilla H loves to make shortbread cookies for her family. Our readers' responses got me thinking about my favourite Christmas tradition. And while I love our Christmas murder mystery parties, my favourite tradition is a new pair of pajamas on Christmas Eve. Every year on Christmas Eve we get to open one Christmas present. I remember as a child being very excited about this, those gifts had been taunting me for weeks as they sat perfectly wrapped beneath the tree. I needed to know what they were. And every year the one gift we got to open was a new pair of pajamas. I remember being shocked it was pajamas, clearly I was a little slow at putting together this Christmas tradition. But I was so excited by a new pair of jammies. All the cousins would run upstairs to put them on and then showed them off to all the ohhing and ahhing adults. There are so many beautiful and funny memories from this family tradition. I remember the year I was a bratty teenager and was pissed my mom got me and my sister matching pjs we still get matching ones so clearly I got over this complaint. I remember my cousins got these adorable flannel nightgowns with matching hats you only can get away with a flannel hat when you're young and cute. I love this tradition and love that my parents still continue it, even though we are no longer kids. It's an added bonus that as an adult I get to give my mom helpful hints on what pajamas I want I requested this pair from the Loft. They look so cosy and will be perfect to wear for the next year.
