Multipurpose crocheted shawl

This versatile accessory can be worn as a hip shawl or a head or neck scarf.

Materials
• 1 skein Patons Brilliant (bulky specialty) yarn, Burgundy, or similar style yarn of your choice
• Size Q/19 (15 mm) crochet hook
• Blunt-tip needle for working in ends

Pattern is for size small. Make your base chain 10 stitches longer for each size you would like to increase.

Gauge: 4" x 4" = 6 stitches and 5 rows worked in single crochet with front/back loop dropped.

Instructions
Ch 51.
Row 1: Sk first ch and sc into each ch after. Turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc2tog. *Sc in next st by picking up back loop only, sc in next st by picking up front loop only.* Repeat from * to * until only 2 sts remain, sc2tog. Turn.
Remaining rows: (number differs according to size) Work the same as Row 2 until only 4 sts remain. Turn.
Second-to-last row: Ch 1, sc2tog twice (2 sts remain). Turn.
Last row: Ch 1, sc2tog again (1 st remains). Fasten off.
