Finished wrap is approx 152.5 x 51 cm (60 x 20 ins).

You need:
• 5 balls (100 g) Patons Shetland Chunky (75 per cent acrylic/25 per cent wool), No. 03430 Wine
• One pair of 6 mm needles OR whichever needles you require to produce the tension given below
• Tapestry needle
• 2 buttons, 6.5 cm (2-1/2 ins) in diameter

Tension
15 sts and 20 rows = 10 cm (4 ins) in stocking stitch. Work to exact tension with specified yarn to obtain satisfactory results. TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK TENSION.

To make:
Cast on 75 sts.
Row 1 (right side): K1, [p1,k1] to end of row.
Rep 3 times more to complete 4 rows of seed st.
**Row 5: Sl1, knit to end of row.
Row 6: Sl1 purlwise, purl to end of row.**

Rep from ** to ** until work from beg measures 35.5 cm (14 ins), thus ending with right side facing for next row.

Next row (buttonhole row): Sl1, k10, cast off next 8 sts, knit to end of row.
Next row: Sl1 purlwise, purl to end of row, casting on 8 sts over cast-off sts.

Rep from ** to ** until work from beg measures 150 cm (59 ins), thus ending with right side facing for next row.

Rep Row 1 four times to complete 4 rows of seed st. Cast off in pat. Fasten off.

Pin to measurements; block. Do not press.

Try on wrap to determine desired button placement; with tapestry needle and leftover yarn, sew on buttons by buttoning either one, you can adjust the wrap so it's loose or snug.
