A gift of cookies or other sweet treats is a surefire way to spread the holiday spirit – especially if it comes in a brand-new cake pan or wrapped in a pretty new tea towel.

Kraft paper wrap
1. Cut strip of kraft paper long enough to wrap around pan, allowing 2 to 3 inches (5 to 8 cm) extra length.

2. Centre pan on paper. Match ends of paper and fold down, 1/2 inch (1 cm) at a time, until at pan.

3. Using hole punch, punch 2 holes in folded paper. Thread ribbon or baker's twine through holes and tie.

Tea towel package
1. Put new, clean tea towel, wrong side up, on work surface. Fold long edges in to meet in middle, adjusting overlap to reach desired width.

2. Wrap folded towel around pan. Fold ends under pan and tie with ribbon, matching edges at bottom.
