SPICED BERRY PUNCH

Method

In blender, purée strawberries until smooth; add water, if necessary, to achieve desired consistency (you should have about 2 cups total). Pour into punch bowl or large pitcher. Stir in cognac, Vanilla Syrup, liqueur and lime juice. Place in refrigerator. (Make-ahead: Can be refrigerated overnight.) Before serving, stir in wine and ice cubes. Garnish with fruits and spices.

 

Vanilla Syrup In small saucepan, bring 1 cup each granulated sugar and water, and 2 tsp vanilla to boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; let cool. (Make-ahead: Can be stored in airtight container and refrigerated for up to 1 month.) Makes about 1 1/2 cups.
